It started with a rock!

What a night…up again!  This time it started with a rock.

“…if they kept quiet, the stones would do it for them…”

What is a stone?  A stone is – what it was created to be.  Now for you…God will cause you to do things that you should not be doing if you are being who He created you to be.  In other words, be who God created you to be, and He will cause you to do things that people will say you should not/ could not/ would not be doing.

What has God created me to be?

“I am the true vine; you are the branches.  If you abide in me, I will abide in you…apart from me, you can do nothing.”

Why?  Why should I dwell with you?

“…I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit — fruit that will last!”

What fruit?

The fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Have you ever gone to pick apples at an apple orchard and seen only apples on trees?  Never!  There are always apples on trees, which are ready to be picked and enjoyed, and there are those that have already fallen to the ground.  Some apples will fertilize the ground and others will produce new apple trees, which will in turn bear fruit.

The moral of the story?

We need God– to be be who He has created us to be; so that we can do things that people will say we should not be able to do, in order for God to bear fruit in us, with the purpose of that fruit cultivating a tree in someone else’s life; so that they would produce fruit–fruit that will last.

It’s not about you or I.  Our purpose is in other people.
